Week 3

This week Thursday, we went to the site for a visit with our tutor. We met in the Old Street station at 1030, and walked towards Shoreditch. As soon as we got there, we walked into city of London to see how different the surroundings have became compared to what we saw from the walk to Shoreditch. And then we headed back to Shoreditch, Bricklane to see how the local communities use the area during their daily lives. We stopped for a lunch break at noon and carried on seeing some galleries, such as Whitechapel gallery in Aldgate, and ICA near Charing Cross for the afternoon. We finished at about 5pm, it was a long walk that day.
We are supposed to have 3 sheets of A2 explaining our concept ideas for the design of the restaurant gallery, and another sheet of A2 on what is the user group and how it relates to the design. We got the plan and elevations, also photos of the site, but they are not enough to give a clear understanding of the site, so it is rather hard to come up with a solution without knowing the site.
